friends and family

I was looking through the wedding album our youngest daughter, Bethany, and her husband, Mark, created from their wedding day last April.  Of course it was filled with stunningly beautiful and handsome young people as well as some striking senior citizens.  I was particularly impressed with the pictures of the wedding couple surrounded by their wedding party.  The bride and groom each had a mix of close friends and relatives to stand with them as they made their vows before the Lord and the assembled congregation.  Of course the most special pictures were of the couple, themselves, as they stood close and gazed into each other's eyes or kissed.  But I reflected on the importance of the other folks who stood with them.  After the wedding and through the years to come the continued support, love and friendship of those who surround them closely will be invaluable because life is difficult and friends and family will continue to stand along side in the challenging days just as they did on that wedding day.  The fruit of friends and family is sweet indeed.

Proverbs 27:
Ointment and perfume delight the heart,
And the sweetness of a man's friend gives delight by hearty counsel.

blessings,
Rob Smith
