Subject: untraveled road

A road that is untraveled eventually becomes overgrown.  There is a road near the pond that I visit and it was knocked out of use several years ago by a tropical storm that washed out the road's foundation.  Now the weeds and plant growth next to the road are slowly reclaiming the surface.  I was reminded that the road we travel to the presence of the Lord can be damaged by storms in our lives and we may stop travelling that road...the road of daily visits to Him in prayer, reflection and listening to His word.  We may need to clear the path of the overgrowth and reclaim the road to rediscover the joy that comes from meeting Him on the way.

Jeremiah 31:21
"Set up road markers for yourself; make yourself guideposts; consider well the highway, the road by which you went."
