Fw: The pause that activates

Psalm 67 May God be gracious to us and bless us
and make his face to shine upon us, Selah
that your way may be known on earth,
your saving power among all nations.

-
The "Selah" after the first verse of Psalm 67 is a "Stop and think about it" instruction that the writer has added.  The Psalms often flow with such poetry and beauty that we can roll through them too quickly.  The pause here is very meaningful.  Something is happening between the first and second verses.  We see wonderful truth about how God enters our lives and pours out His love and blessing on us as the writer prays in the first verse.  That is, in itself, a great reality...that God hears our prayers, sees our needs and responds.  But the pause between verses prepares us for the matching thought of verse 2 that God doesn't pour out His love just "for" us.  He also does it "through" us that, as He shows up in our lives and others see that reality....they are drawn to Him.  Our lives can become platforms for God to demonstrate His reality and love for people...as illustrated in and through us.
-
Our needs ultimately become His arms of outreach.

Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live."
