Fw: Remembering...

Psalm 74:
Remember your congregation, which you have purchased of old,
    which you have redeemed to be the tribe of your heritage!
    Remember Mount Zion, where you have dwelt....
-
Life throws curve balls (sometimes even spit balls) at us and we can be in shock and at a total loss about what to do.  When those things happen we go to God and ask Him to remember us...to remember that we are the ones He has invested so much in ...and made such great promises to!

We do not see our signs;
    there is no longer any prophet,
    and there is none among us who knows how long.
10 How long, O God, is the foe to scoff?
    Is the enemy to revile your name forever?...

-
We may be in a spiritual "desert" where we feel like we aren't hearing from God and the "bad guys" are winning every day!  This calls us to cry out because we remember the God who has come to rescue us!
-
12
Yet God my King is from of old,
    working salvation in the midst of the earth.
13 You divided the sea by your might;
    you broke the heads of the sea monsters on the waters....

16 Yours is the day, yours also the night;
    you have established the heavenly lights and the sun.
17 You have fixed all the boundaries of the earth;
    you have made summer and winter....

-So, not only do we call God to remember us...We also remember who He is and what He is done.  He did the big things...Creation, Oceans, Seasons, Sun and Moon and this gives us confidence that He also sees our little lives and cares for us! 20 Have regard for the covenant,
    for the dark places of the land are full of the habitations of violence.
21 Let not the downtrodden turn back in shame;
    let the poor and needy praise your name.

-His covenant...His promise...was sealed by the blood of His only Son.  That means He will never forget to "remember"!May we remember not to forget Him!-blessings,Rob Smith

"Death is inevitable.  Life is a choice!"

John 11:25
Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live."
