Fw: Higher than the hills

Psalm 121 1: lift up my eyes to the hills.
    From where does my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
    who made heaven and earth.

Our daughter Courtney now lives with her family near Denver, Colorado.  Visiting her has introduced us to the Rocky Mountains.  Being near the mountains is a humbling experience.  And it's not just "a" mountain...it's a vast range of uplifted mountains that dominates the skyline.  Being out west you are humbled by the vast scale of nature.  Mountains, wide open sky, spreading expanses of desert, deep canyons....they all make me feel small (in a good way) and remind me that Creation...God's handiwork...is much bigger than me.
-
And if His Creation is that much bigger than me....and He still has chosen to make Himself known to me personally...than His love is magnified all the more.  The Lord, who made heaven and earth, also made me.  And as this psalm reminds us, He watches over us, protects us and keeps us both now and forever.  The God who spoke mountains into being is able to carry me through the trials of this life and bring me to Himself.
-
The Lord will keep you from all evil;
    he will keep your life.
The Lord will keep
    your going out and your coming in
    from this time forth and forevermore.

-
blessings!

John 11:25
Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live."
