Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen.
What has been your experience of faith? What has been your experience of God? In Hebrews 11:1 we have two strong words that might be heard in courtroom testimony: assurance and evidence. Often faith is considered something nebulous and vague or undefinable. But the Bible teaches that faith is more like steel wires and stone foundations. I believe that the author of Hebrews wanted to remind the believers that he was addressing of the reality they had already experienced through faith. When we have completed the transaction of faith and transferred our trust from self to God and His work through Jesus we enter an experience of faith. We are transformed at that moment to a child of God, a brother of Christ, a resident of the indwelling Holy Spirit. That experience is so profound that it provides absolute assurance that our hope for Heaven is certain. Has that been your experience...or are you just hopeful that Heaven will be your experience?
Peace and blessings!
