Subject: the middle of the story
Have you ever seen a movie where you felt like you were dropped into the middle of a story? You follow characters who have a history that even they aren't sure of and as the movie unfolds the rest of the story is filled in to give the characters and you a complete understanding. It occurred to me that our lives are like that. We are born, natural creatures, without specific knowledge of Heaven or the Lord who made us and all we see. It's like we were dropped into the middle of our own movie and need to complete the story.

We have been reading the book of John and in the first chapter we see Jesus, who it says in verse 10 "He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him." Jesus came to complete the story...to fill in the beginning and to give context for the rest, including Heaven and the Father. It also reminds me of the Lord's Prayer where the words are "Thy Kingdom come...". The Kingdom of Heaven must come to us for us to realize that it is real and that it is the greater reality than the natural realm we are so familiar with. When Jesus came He was bringing the kingdom to us and He continues to bring the kingdom to us. I took a picture of the pond where little waves were coming seemingly endlessly as a reminder that God keeps bringing His kingdom to our shore.

The question is, "Will we believe that He is the King and His kingdom has come to include us...Will we accept His Son and acknowledge that our story is incomplete without him?"

John 1:12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.
