Psalm 90:3 So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.

As I think about this verse I am reminded that there is an infinite aspect to our walk with the Lord but a finite aspect to our walk on earth. And the "finite" aspect is not a bad thing...it brings focus to our need to do those things and have that kind of attitude that values that which is most lasting...that which will go on after our days are done. Our time on earth is a "time of opportunity", opportunity first to meet and embrace the living God through the work His Son completed on the cross. It then becomes a 'time of opportunity' to reflect that reality to others that they may also begin a new life during their days here that will continue in a place beyond time.

We should not regret the passing of time, the loss of youth, the obvious temporary nature of this life. The temporary only foreshadows the eternal and reminds us that ultimately we must shed these marvelous vessels that have a limit to take on new bodies that are made for a "forever future".
