Fw: redefining the possible

Mark 6: 51 And he got into the boat with them, and the wind ceased. And they were utterly astounded, 52 for they did not understand about the loaves, but their hearts were hardened.

Mark tells us two miraculous stories back to back.  The first one is about the amazing feeding of 5,000 from five loaves and two fish.  The second is about Jesus walking on the water to meet the disciples in their boat.  They appear to be two unrelated stories.  But apparently the loaves and fish didn't have the impact on the disciples that the walk-on-water did.  Perhaps they had seen so many miracles by this time that they'd become a bit jaded...
-
Perhaps one lesson that we can remember is that Jesus redefines the possible.  As Creator of the Universe and the one who holds all things together (from John 1 and Colossians 1) He can unlock the natural code and "do the impossible".  That is why we pray with hope.  Nothing is impossible from the standpoint of changing the natural for supernatural benefit.  And when we consider the 'impossible' task of reaching the world with the gospel, let's remember that Jesus can multiply His Word just like the loaves and fish and He can carry it over the oceans just as He walked on water and He can accompany us on the journey just as He got into the boat with the disciples.

Luke 18:27 But he said, "What is impossible with man is possible with God."

Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live."
