Only God can keep a promise over multiple generations. A man might make a promise and keep it during his lifetime. A nation might draft a constitution and try to protect it over time. But only God can absolutely promise and fulfill for generation after generation. That's because He is the God of eternity and He rules over the passage of time just as He rules over the course of events. We would do well to get to know and to honor this promise keeper. His promises impact every person, whether they acknowledge Him or not!
Genesis 12:7 Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, "To your descendants I will give this land." And there he built an altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him.
