119 years ago Mr. George Cole of Asbury Park, New Jersey invented a compound that would accomplish three very important tasks regarding bicycle maintenance: lubrication, rust prevention and cleaning. This famous 3-IN-ONE Oil accomplishes all of this with one application. It occurred to me this morning that when we come to know the Lord personally we are introduced to the heavenly version of 3-IN-ONE Oil in the form of Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He also comes to clean, lubricate the narrow passages of life and prevent the buildup of sin. Technology has soared since the invention of the oil product by Mr. Cole in 1894, but bicycles, door hinges, and countless other mechanical devices still need the basic lubrication, rust prevention and cleaning of 3-IN-ONE....and so do we need the "full compound" effect of God's three in one presence to help us run smoothly and cleanly on a daily basis.
