Fw: No term limit

Psalm 97 The Lord reigns, let the earth rejoice;
    let the many coastlands be glad!
Clouds and thick darkness are all around him;
    righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.
-
Politics dominates our news.  Power is sought by parties to find positions in government and make policies to guide, regulate and control the people.  We can forget that the overall government is under the rule of the Lord.  He is a King and His rule has been from before the earth was formed and will last beyond its end.  There are no term limits for the Lord.  (By the way, I think term limits for men are a very good thing!)
-
And as we read in the second verse, above, "righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne".  That's a good thing.  Righteousness and justice are the goals of our government in the U.S. too, but we interpret and define those terms very differently from each other....and very often very differently than the Lord.
-
And He is a very visible presence...not an ethereal or mythological ruler:
His lightnings light up the world;
    the earth sees and trembles.
The mountains melt like wax before the Lord,
    before the Lord of all the earth.

-
Indeed, we are all aware of His presence.  The question is whether we will bow to His authority in grateful worship...or only yield to His judgment:
The heavens proclaim his righteousness,
    and all the peoples see his glory.

10 O you who love the Lordhate evil!
    He preserves the lives of his saints;
    he delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

-
It is the best of life to submit to His loving rule:
11 Light is sown for the righteous,
    and joy for the upright in heart.

-
After all, our lives on earth are what is limited.  We ought to worship the eternal God, that we might continue under His reign in heaven after our earthly journey ends.
-
blessings!

Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live."
