We make plans...we tend to think that we are charting our life ("I am the master of my fate. I am the captain of my soul." from William Ernest Henley's poem 'Invictus'). But all of our plans are circumscribed by those of a greater Planner. After all, we don't even know what the weather will be tomorrow when it comes to planning what to wear for the day ahead.

Submitting to the Lord's plans does not surrender one's identity or purpose. To the contrary, it aligns one with the Maker of all things and the One who has the master plan for His handiwork, as well as for our lives.

Consider these words from the Lord's inspired word:
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11)
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28)
The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps. (Proverbs 16:9)
Romans, chapter 11, has fascinating things to say about why 'outsiders' (Gentiles) were called by the Lord into His family while, across history since the time of Jesus, many Jewish folks have not been open to the resurrection and the Messianic identity of the Son. Bottom line is that room was made for the Gentile to enter and the Jew will not be forgotten either. There is a time coming for a faith awakening for them as well.

Paul ends that chapter with this amazing thought:
33 Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!
34 "For who has known the mind of the Lord,
or who has been his counselor?"
35 "Or who has given a gift to him
that he might be repaid?"
36 For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.

"Death is inevitable. Life is a choice!"
John 11:25
Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live."
