Last night we enjoyed our church's first Christmas concert of the season...The title of the concert is "Tell me the story". The wonderful story of Christmas is of God coming from Heaven to live as a person...Emmanuel...which means 'God with us'. As I read through part of Romans 8 this morning I was reminded that He is still with us...in fact He is in us, if we have trusted in Him personally.

Romans 8:9 You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. 10 But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.

Surely the wonderful truth that Christ is in you, now and always, is something to be celebrated daily. In a sense Christmas is the normal experience for the believer. It was certainly amazing to be in the human family of Jesus back then...or to walk with Him as a disciple...but it is no less amazing or real in experience to know He dwells within you now and brings you life!

Emmanuel is still with us!
