Oh morning moon
Do you not know
The sun is soon about to show?

You think that now you shine so bright
That you'll extend well past the night.

And for this moment you can claim
to rule the sky (or so it seems)...
-
For, truth be told, your light's not yours,
You simply are a mirror
-
And as day rolls, you're bound to fade,
As true light's source appears!
-
Friend, so it is with you and I.
We shine a while in our own sky
-
Thinking that we rule the day
When our true light from Heaven comes.
-
And we must fade before His rays.
