Subject: faith comes
Where does faith come from? How does a person come to believe, to trust in God with their whole heart? Is there a course of study? Is there an argument to be won? Is it just a matter of logic and deduction?

The apostle Paul tells us in Romans, chapter 10, verse 17 that "Faith comes by hearing..." So faith is one outcome of hearing something. It is the result of listening with inner comprehension, that triggers a response that is also from our deepest part. Paul completed the thought: "Faith comes by hearing and hearing through the word of Christ." In the Amplified version it is translated as "faith comes from hearing what is told, and what is heard comes by the preaching of the message concerning Christ."

Faith comes...faith germinates and grows...faith is produced...faith is expressed...faith awakens our inner person as we have the opportunity to listen to the message...the words of Jesus Christ. We don't "work up" faith. We don't just decide to have faith. We need the outside voice of God to touch the inside of our person. And then faith comes!
