Subject: the normal life

Isaiah 12:
"Behold, God is my salvation;
    I will trust, and will not be afraid;
for the Lord God is my strength and my song,
    and he has become my salvation."
With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation. And you will say in that day:
"Give thanks to the Lord,
    call upon his name,
make known his deeds among the peoples,
    proclaim that his name is exalted."

The normal life has a rhythm or cycle of ups and downs.  Walking with the Lord through the "downs" we find the "ups" as He provides strength and even joy in the midst of difficulty and becomes "our salvation", even when the trial may not have been resolved the way we hoped.  It seems to be just as Isaiah writes here.  First the Lord is our strength and then He is our song and this leads to Him becoming our salvation.  His presence...his personal intervention and involvement in our lives really is our salvation.  This leads to "thanks" and we want to "make known his deeds" and "proclaim that his name is exalted".  This is all because, as Isaiah writes in the first phrase, "Behold God is my salvation".
