Romans 15:5 May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, 6 that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. 7 Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.

What does it take to live in harmony with each other? We need a God of endurance and encouragement to provide what is needed because we need to endure differences that cause rough edges in our relationships and we need to be proactive to encourage each other despite those differences. We have to get past comparisons, competitions and confrontations before we can live in harmony. Harmony isn't sameness...harmony is resonating differences that are pleasing together, just as in music. Differences that please allow us to glorify God with one voice.

Our attitude should be first to welcome each other, not to judge or screen out or ignore or be selective before accepting. Our model is Jesus, who welcomed us unconditionally... and this glorifies God.
