Romans 5:10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.11 More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

We probably didn't consciously realize that, before putting personal faith in Jesus, we actually were "enemies" of God. How were we enemies? Well, if God is all about reflecting Himself through all that He made...we were all about reflecting ourselves through all we could do. Instead of showing God's greatness in fashioning a creature who would have a living, walking relationship with the Creator, we were intent in making it all about ourselves.

But....through Jesus that has changed for followers of Christ. We have been reconciled...set free from following the wrong master. And beyond that...instead of being enemies, we celebrate God...we rejoice in God.

And woven through the story is another 'turn around' as the death of Jesus (brought about by all of us as enemies) was turned around to become life...resurrected life. And that death, which restored us, now has resulted in life that has revived us.

Thanks to Jesus, we are back on God's track. His 'death to life' has brought us from 'death to life' as well.
