Fw: Lord of each step

Proverbs 16:9 "A man's mind plans his way [as he journeys through life],

But the Lord directs his steps and establishes them."  (Amplified Bible)

As we enter each day we have a sense of what we will do that day.  As we face the major chapters and choices of life (What college, What career, What life partner, Having children, Parenting children, Life without children, Facing retirement, Preparing for life's end) we use our minds, and as believers we seek the Lord's help.  We plan our way but we, on ourselves, do not have the entire picture and we do not control very much.  We don't control, or even fully understand, our own nature or our own strengths and weaknesses.  But the Lord, who knew us before we were even formed, not only knows every part of our makeup...He has His own plan for our lives.

And so, even as we plan our day and plan our way through all the decisions and directions that we face, God directs circumstances that surround our lives and the people that we meet and the condition of our bodies and the timing and nature of our children.  As the seasons of our lives unfold we see that we may have planned our way, but the Lord has directed our steps.

And we bow before Him, amazed that He would care so much for each of us.  

Sometimes we see His plan looking back far more clearly than we could looking forward.
