bumble bee

I spied bumble bees in our garden last night and was attracted to the brilliant and soft yellow coats they were wearing.  (see picture)  A little research found that those soft coats develop a static electrical charge when the bees are flying.  When they land the pollen they have attracted from the static charge is attracted to the female part of the flower (stigma) because it is the most strongly grounded part of the flower.  This is how bees are used by the Creator to pollinate flowers.  Electricity has been part of the picture for a long time before Ben Franklin and his famous kite!  Fascinating how the Lord weaves beauty and order together in His Creation.

Song of Solomon 2:12
The flowers are springing up,
the season of singing birds has come,
and the cooing of turtledoves fills the air.

blessings,
Rob Smith
