not an argument to win....a person to meet

John 1:11 He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. 12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God

Consider presenting Christianity not as an argument to win...but as a person to meet.
-
Those of us who have been born again through repenting of our sin and embracing the salvation purchased for us on the Cross have experienced a personal revolution that is difficult to describe to others who have not crossed that threshold.  To the world, Christianity may appear as one of thousands of belief systems...where belief systems reduce to mental acceptance of a certain tradition.
-
But the Christian knows that the reality is we have met Christ and He has embraced us, accepted us and transformed us.  We had heard of Jesus, of course, but we had not recognized Him for who He is on a personal level.  We had known about Him but we had not come to know Him.
-
As the passage above says, Jesus comes to people and some do not receive Him.  They have read about and heard about Him.  They may know what tradition says took place in His life, death and resurrection.  But still they have not welcomed into their lives.
-
We need to receive the person of Christ personally...trust that the name of Jesus, which means Savior, is what we need.
-
The result is a changed relationship...we go from outsiders to family members and become children of God.
-
Coming to Christ is not an argument to win.  It is a person to meet!

"Death is inevitable.  Life is a choice!"

John 11:25
Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live."
